The Colorado Blue Spruce is a gorgeous evergreen that has silvery blue-green needles, and light brown cones towards the top. This tree grows in a pyramidal shape of fifty feet or more, and loves full sun. This is a great gift that will serve as a memorial to honor that special someone. Each gift tree is beautifully packaged in a 100% natural jute bag with an accompanying hand-tied ribbon.

Care Information

General Care

Watering: Water every 4-5 days, keeping the soil moist. Once the tree is established water only during dry spells. This tree is drought tolerant. Sun: Colorado Blue Spruce needs full sun. Pruning: The Blue Spruce does not need to be pruned.

Planting Guidelines

Plant the Colorado Blue Spruce in a sunny location with moist, well-drained soil. Dig a hole that is as deep as the root ball and 2-3 times as wide. Once you place the tree in the hole, the top of the root ball should be leveled with surrounding soil. Fill the hole halfway with fill dirt, then add water to remove any air pockets in the soil. Finish filling the hole and water again.

Winter Care

The Colorado Blue Spruce is tolerant of cold weather. These trees also do not go dormant. Their growing processes simply slows down during this time.

Potting & Container

Blue Spruce Trees can be kept potted for a small period. It is recommended to plant into the ground. If you want to keep your tree potted for longer choose a pot that is 12-16 inches wider than the root ball of the tree. Water thoroughly.

I tried to send an olive tree as a memorial gift; however, Seeds of Life was not shipping these for 3-4 mos. The only tree that I was able to ship was a Spruce Tree. The large tree was not in stock, so I had to settle for a small tree. It was a frustrating experience .

We purchased the tree and the engraved memorial tag/stake to go with it. The tree was lovely but the tag wasn't engraved, it was painted on, and after one night, the entire "engraved" surface was washed away. It now looks as if it were blank. Very low quality. It really added disappointment on top of heartbreak.

My family has had many young deaths of the past few years and it has been devastating. There will never be words that heal a person. Nor will a card or a song. Order was supposed to deliver on 12/10. It is now 12/22 and still has not delivered. When sending as a sympathy gift and timing is this delayed it makes it seem meaningless upon receipt.

I know that you put a lot of thought into this special memorial gift for your Aunt, and I apologize that it fell short of your expectations. I would like to first say that we send our thoughts, prayers and sincere condolences to your Aunt and your family during this difficult time of grief.
After looking into this order, we were able to confirm it was in fact delivered on 12/17. It does not require signature for the delivery, and with Fed Ex (our delivery partner) there is no location described in the confirmation of delivery. It could have mistakenly been delivered to an incorrect door, or sometimes even a neighbor. It does arrive in a tall slender box and can be overlooked.
However, I wanted to make this right for you and ensure your aunt received the tree you and Mike had ordered. I have sent a replacement tree out yesterday. Included in that replacement, I personally wrote a letter to Bonnie, explaining the mix-up and how your purest thoughts were there with this special memorial of your uncle and sent our condolences. You shall receive additional tracking information, and I will personally check on this for delivery. Maybe you can touch base with your aunt to confirm after we see that it says delivered.
Again, I know out of our control, but I want to truly apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we may have the opportunity to earn your trust and business in the future.

We lost my father in law to Covid last year and my work family sent us the Magnolia tree. We designated a special spot in the yard for the tree for everyone who visits to see and we love it.When my boss lost her mother in law recently, we sent her a pine tree. The Blue Spruce we ordered as a memorial for a friend's father in another state was delivered quickly. He loves it. My only concern is the ordering process which I found confusing. It asks for delivery and billing info but was not clear to me (I'm old so that may be the problem) what info should go where as you go through the process. When I reviewed the order before sending it the tree was going to be delivered to ME and my friend was to be billed! (face palm) I had to start over and got it right the second time around. Perhaps if some verbiage was added to the ordering pages making it clear who's info goes where it'd be easier to get it input correctly the first time. Thats my only concern. The actual gift and delivery gets 5 stars!

This time, I paid for 3 day shipping in order for my loved one to receive the tree in time for the burial of his mother, which was Saturday. The tree finally arrived on Tuesday in freezing weather. All the lady said was there was no guarantee for 3 day with FedEx. REALLY? I wouldn't have ordered if I was told that!

So cute and pretty! Can't wait to see it grow..... thought the memorial date on the engravement would be one line but it didn't fit so the date was split in 2 lines. Wish there was a way to center or view how it would look first, but other than that the tree is a great memorial decor in memory of my dad. Love it!
